About the role
Barclays is hiring a Product Owner to deliver enterprise AI initiatives with strategic business impact. The role involves collaborating with engineers and owning the full product lifecycle from discovery through deployment while balancing innovation with governance in a regulated environment. What you will do
- You'll collaborate with world-class engineers to develop cutting-edge technology while ensuring meaningful value is delivered safely and responsibly.
- Own the full product lifecycle from discovery through deployment, balancing innovation with governance in a complex, regulated environment.
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their AI/ML service offerings.
- Background in product management, business analysis, or technical domain expertise.
- Track record of leading agile transformation initiatives and coaching teams through organizational change.
- Proven experience navigating regulated environments and managing heightened governance requirements for tech change.
