About the role
The Infrastructure Platforms team at JPMorgan Chase innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle, with a commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability. The role is a core product leadership position responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. This Product Manager will shape product strategy and roadmap, manage discovery and backlog, partner with engineering and UX, track success metrics, and assess emerging technologies including AI.
What you will do
- Develops and communicates product strategy, vision, and roadmap aligned to business objectives and customer outcomes.
- Translates strategic goals into prioritized initiatives and releases with measurable outcomes, and maintains clear traceability between business objectives, roadmap items, requirements, delivery milestones, and value realization.
- Manages discovery efforts and product research (including user interviews, feedback sessions, and requirement workshops) to uncover customer needs and incorporate them into the product roadmap and backlog.
- Builds and maintains strong stakeholder partnerships across business sponsors, customers/users, engineering, UX, architecture, risk, compliance, and executive stakeholders; manages expectations through regular communication, roadmap reviews, status updates, product demonstrations, and office hours.
- Owns, maintains, and continuously develops a product backlog that enables delivery teams to operate at least 2–3 sprints ahead, ensuring items are refined, prioritized, and ready for implementation.
- Partners with engineering and UX teams to translate requirements into well-defined, testable, shippable increments, including driving backlog grooming, participating in sprint planning, defining acceptance criteria, and ensuring release readiness.
- Champions user-centric design and experience improvement, evaluating user journeys, personas, workflows, usability, adoption, and operational efficiency; incorporates user feedback into prioritization and product evolution.
- Builds the framework and tracks key success metrics such as cost, feature/functionality, risk posture, reliability, adoption, usage patterns, operational metrics, and overall product health—driving data-informed decisions tied to business outcomes.
- Continuously assesses market trends, emerging technologies, and AI opportunities to improve product value, competitiveness, user experience, and productivity; identifies and advances opportunities to embed AI capabilities into products and workflows.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 12+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area.
- Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, delivery, and value management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and make prioritization and scope trade-off decisions with clear accountability.
- Strong analytical and data fluency, including defining and monitoring KPIs and using data to drive product decisions.
Preferred qualifications
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization.
- Strong technical acumen and comfort engaging on modern architectures, APIs, integrations, and data platforms, including familiarity with API structures, JSON payloads, and common integration patterns.
- Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL data models, and ability to perform or facilitate analysis using SQL and reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Grafana, or similar).
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve product management efficiency (analysis, research, content generation, and stakeholder communication) and/or delivering AI-enabled product capabilities.
