About the role
Nokia's Optical Network Infrastructure R&D team designs end-to-end solutions for communications frameworks and data-path setups spanning Digital (packet) and Optical (channels) areas, taking full ownership from solution design through customer issue resolution. The team delivers embedded software products using continuous integration pipelines and fully automated test suites following TDD, and works closely with customer account teams. This Principal Software Development Engineer role covers software system design, device driver, platform and card/chassis support, and development of L1 control-path and data-path applications across a broad product portfolio.
What you will do
- Develop and own L1 application(control path and data-path) or Platform support for card/chassis, related device driver software and features working closely with requirements and customer account teams with deep customer focus.
- Understand, drive and develop system wide impact features from architecture, design to deliver
- As a Software Development Engineer at Nokia Optical Network Infrastructure team you will work in a AI First, Cross-functional, agile team developing embedded software products. You will work with most of the company's product portfolio which leads to a quick and good overall system understanding.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Software system design, inter-process communication, threading and other OS concepts.
- Boot process on X86 processors with multi OS support, uboot, coreboot. Some experience with BSPs and board provisioning/bring-up.
- PCI, PCIe, SPI, DMA and I2c protocols. BCM switch programming.
- IP Stack drivers working knowledge, io-pkt driver.
- Experience from automated testing in SW development environment.
