About the role
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Finance & Strategy team drives financial insight and strategy, working with key business partners to support long-term growth. This role partners with F&S and business leaders to build forecasts, track performance, define metrics, and develop dashboards using large datasets.
What you will do
- Partner with F&S and Business Leaders to drive the long-term success of Stripe
- Work cross functionally to identify important strategy questions and answer them with data
- Build financial forecasts and targets, track performance, and understand deviations from actuals to drive strategy and operational rigor
- Gain deep knowledge and understanding of Stripe's business performance across geographies and user segments
- Define metrics and leading indicators of business performance and partner with the Analytics team to develop tools and dashboards to make these metrics widely accessible across Stripe
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 7–14 years of experience in a relevant analytical or finance role
- Intermediate (at a minimum) or advanced knowledge of SQL or Python is required - you must be well versed working with extremely large and complex datasets + extracting insights
- Experience with financial analysis, financial forecasting, BvA (variance analysis), and other financial concepts
- Experience working on ambiguous problems and driving solutions/projects independently
- Ability to automate and use AI to streamline recurring tasks/analyses, in order to free up time to work on more strategic and higher impact work
- Experience building dashboards and data visualization tools from scratch
- A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners and department leads. You are seen as a trusted and objective advisor
- An enthusiastic "roll up your sleeves" mentality
- A proven ability to be a self-starter capable of driving business results without significant supervision
- Experience working in a global capacity (this team will work will all regions)
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a strategic finance function at a high-growth tech company, preferably in the payments/fintech space
