About the role
Netflix's Partner Operations team works to make direct delivery simpler for new content partners and the Netflix teams that receive and launch their titles day to day. The team evaluates what a partner can deliver, how those assets move through fulfillment and launch systems, and what it takes to support the deal over time. As a Partner Operations Manager, the role is the operational lead across an assigned slate of deals, assessing partner capabilities, defining the delivery path, coordinating first deliveries and handoffs, and aligning Business Development, Merchandising, Content, Product, Engineering, vendors and Launch Ops.
What you will do
- Clarify deal goals, asset and localization needs, timing, partner contacts and open questions with Business Development, Regional Merchandising and Content teams as deals move into delivery planning.
- Assess the partner’s ability to meet our specs. Compare their needs with Netflix’s current system and operational capabilities; identify what is missing, what may need to be built and the effort required from integration through stable operations.
- Apply gateway eligibility criteria agreed with Engineering to determine delivery through UI, API or a vendor route. Work with Ops Vendor Management on the vendor model and cost, considering the effort for the partner and Netflix teams.
- Lead pre-qualification across long-form and promotional assets. Coordinate sample and quality reviews, then determine which assets Netflix can accept or conform, what the partner must change and whether vendor or post-vendor QC is needed.
- Turn partner context and deal nuance into clear technical and operational requirements for Product and Engineering. Frame the problem, define the workflow and write user stories where useful, making timing, constraints and trade-offs clear. Work with PACT and Solution Engineering on configuration and integration questions.
- Prepare partners to meet spec, coordinate tests and work through first deliveries. Answer delivery and spec questions clearly, bring in technical specialists when needed and remove early blockers.
- Keep partners, vendors and internal teams aligned on decisions, risks, owners and next steps. Communicate early and on time, and anticipate what each team will need before it becomes a problem.
- Hand off the partner profile, setup and open risks to the Launch Ops project manager once delivery is reliable.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Substantial experience independently leading complex partner onboarding, post-production, content operations, or product launches. This is a role for someone who has taken ambiguous, multi-team work from planning through launch and stable operations.
- Proven project or technical program management experience, with strong judgment on priorities, dependencies, risk and when to escalate.
- Excellent partner management. You build trust, set expectations, navigate difficult conversations and stay several steps ahead of partners and internal teams.
- Clear, timely written and verbal communication. You can explain technical and operational issues in plain language and turn them into decisions, owners and next steps.
- Strong experience coordinating Product, Engineering, Operations, business teams and external vendors toward a common launch outcome.
- Confidence working directly with Product and Engineering. You can turn partner context into clear problem statements, workflow requirements and user stories; discuss APIs and configurations; and understand engineering roadmap priorities and trade-offs.
- An understanding of the Netflix product or comparable streaming products, the content delivery and fulfillment ecosystem, and how delivery choices affect the member experience. Familiarity with media specifications, media processing, QC and direct delivery tools is helpful.
- The ability to move comfortably between detail and the end-to-end picture, making the partner experience simpler while keeping ongoing operational work sustainable.
Benefits and support
- Compensation and benefits are detailed in the job posting
