About the role
Renesas' Power PCP team in Bangalore develops advanced digital power ICs for AI data centers, with software that enables feature-rich hardware used by major technology companies. The team works across software, firmware, and hardware systems and multiple software languages and paradigms. This manager role leads and mentors a team of software engineers, drives requirements gathering across customers and hardware/firmware teams, and provides hands-on technical leadership.
What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of talented Software Engineers, supporting their execution, growth, and career development
- Gather and drive clarity on software requirements from diverse groups including customers, application engineers, hardware, and firmware engineers
- Provide technical leadership and contribute hands‑on when needed to offload the team
- Drive execution, resource planning, and prioritization in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Remove blockers, improve processes, and champion the team across the organization
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 12+ years of software engineering work experience, including 2+ years of experience managing a team
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Proficient programming skills in Java/Kotlin and Python
- Solid understanding of software systems and development practices using CI/CD
- Proficient in Generative and Agentic AI technologies
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with JavaFX or GUI development very strongly preferred
- Experience with basic electronics, microcontroller programming and bus communications strongly preferred
- Experience with DevOps including JIRA, GitLab, and Confluence preferred.
