About the role
Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation, part of Schneider Electric, offers low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, automation solutions, software and services across homes, agriculture, buildings, infrastructure and industry. The Medium Voltage R&D department in Ahmednagar develops and validates medium voltage equipment and GIS products. This role leads research and development on material innovation for medium voltage products, runs type tests per IEC at third-party labs such as CPRI, ERDA and CESI, and manages in-house verification and validation and test facilities through to production release.
What you will do
- Contributing to research and development for enhancing medium voltage equipment performance and longevity through material innovation.
- Providing technical expertise in material selection, performance, and reliability.
- Conduct Type tests as per IEC for MV GIS products at third-party labs like CPRI, ERDA, and CESI. Indepth knowledge of IEC std.
- Conducting in-house verification & validation for medium voltage equipment
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to successful completion of V&V activities.
- Follow the V&V program to ensure new package/product release to production within the timeline.

- Functional Competencies - Research and Development: Experience in contributing to R&D projects. Design Assurance, Verification & Validation for medium voltage products, Product Validation.
- Functional Competencies - Type Testing: Proficiency in conducting type testing of MV products, Certification, and coordination with test labs & external parties for smooth execution of tests.
- Functional Competencies - Technical documentation: Able to create & maintain technical documents, validation reports, and verification plans.
- Functional Competencies - Hands-on experience: Able to design & develop test arrangements, assemble type test panels, and conduct internal verification & validation trials.
- Functional Competencies - Inhouse test facility management:- able to create & maintain the test arrangements for MV products, subassemblies & components.
