About the role

The Global Accounting Operations Center (GAOC) at Qualcomm India in Hyderabad runs the company's Record to Report (R2R) and general ledger accounting processes. The function covers financial close execution, internal controls, SOX compliance and audit support on Oracle and SAP ERP systems and finance tools such as ARM, HFM, TM1 and AGIS. This role leads end-to-end accounting operations, manages a team of 15+ professionals, partners with cross-functional and global stakeholders, and drives automation, AI adoption and process transformation initiatives.

What you will do

  • Own and manage month-end and quarter-end close processes and ensure the timelines
  • Drive proactive issue resolution and escalation management throughout
  • Well verse with US GAAP requirements to ensure accuracy, completeness.
  • Develop strong hands-on expertise in Oracle ERP (R12 and Oracle Cloud) SAP ERP and various other finance tools
  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of financial systems and tools including ARM, HFM, TM1, AGIS
  • Advantage to have knowledge on Tableau
  • Perform and review QRS, SOX controls, IPE certifications, ensuring compliance with internal control frameworks
  • Conduct quarterly access certifications and enforce access governance
  • Support quarter-end and year-end audits, including audit requests
  • Lead and participate in SOX walkthroughs, process reviews, and auditor interactions
  • Lead and manage a team of 15+ accounting professionals at various levels
  • Drive performance management, coaching, and capability development
  • Ensure accountability and high-quality delivery across processes
  • Review on timely basis and balance the FTE requirements
  • Partner with various cross functions including General Ledger, Inter Company, Finance AP, AR, FP&A, and other stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with IT to enhance understanding of systems and tools, drive system improvements, and support ongoing automation initiatives.
  • Drive coordination across global teams and resolve dependencies
  • Interact regularly with leadership and global stakeholders
  • Provide structured updates on close status, risks, and key insights
  • Support executive presentations and financial reviews
  • Identify automation opportunities within the processes, lead the projects where required, drive implementation to success
  • Enable use of AI tools and digital solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Champion continuous improvement and transformation initiatives
  • Encourage the team on adoption of the automation tools and identify the opportunities for generating efficiencies and process improvements
  • Lead or co-lead key initiatives, including system implementations and process transformations
  • Support enterprise-wide programs such as close optimization, ERP transformation etc.,
  • Support system implementations, enhancements, and UAT

What the employer is looking for

  • CA / CPA or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance with strong expertise in GL and R2R processes
