About the role
Schneider Electric is a French multinational specializing in digital automation and energy management, and Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation is its India-based electrical and automation brand with a 70+ year legacy, offering low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, automation solutions, software and services for homes, buildings, infrastructure and industry. This role leads tool design of injection and compression moulds for electrical and automotive applications, working with R&D, NPI/LCM and customers on feasibility studies and part refinement. It covers tooling concepts and layouts for single and multicavity tooling with and without hot runner systems, tool design calculations and 3D CAD drafting, and CAE-based polymer rheology validation of tool element reliability.
What you will do
- Tool Design of Moulds (Injection and Compression) for electrical, automotive applications
- Collaborate with R&D, NPI/LCM, customers for feasbility studies and part refinement
- Develop tooling concepts, tool layouts for single and multicavity tooling with and without Hot runner systems
- Perform tool design calculations and develop designs and drafting in 3D CAD
- Apply CAE for Polymer Rheology to Validate tool element reliability
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure tool designs are feasible and cost-effective
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Proven experience as a Mould Designer proficient in Injection mould design for single and multicavity HRS and Non HRS moulds for Engineering Plastics.
- Experience in compression moulding will be added advantage.
- Proficiency in CREO and CAE software for Moulds
- Knowledge of Short Cycle time Mould design will be added advantage
- In-depth knowledge of Moulding machines, moulded part production processes and experience with thermoplastic.
- Experience with thermoset plastics will be added advantage.
