About the role
Siemens Energy India Limited (SEIL) is a pure-play energy technology company serving the energy value chain across India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives, with this role sitting in the GEC department. The team leads engineering and execution of marine and offshore telecom and communication systems, covering PA/GA, ICAMS, CCTV, telephone systems, LAN/WAN and wireless networks, VHF/UHF & GMDSS interfaces, VSAT and satellite communications, and access control. This Lead role owns delivery from project handover through commissioning and sea trials, acting as the technical interface between customers, shipyards, vendors, class societies and internal engineering teams.
What you will do
- Lead end-to-end execution of telecom packages for marine and offshore projects.
- Review customer specifications, shipyard requirements, and class rules.
- Manage telecom system engineering, document reviews, and technical approvals.
- Coordinate interfaces with Electrical, Automation, PMS, IAS, Navigation, and Cyber Security systems.
- Lead technical discussions with customers, vendors, and classification societies.
- Manage telecom vendor selection, drawing approvals, FAT participation, and issue resolution.
- Support commissioning, SAT, sea trials, and project close-out activities.
- Drive standardization, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Strong knowledge of telecom and communication systems.
- Understanding of industrial networking, VLANs, managed switches, fiber optics, and redundant network architectures.
- Familiarity with marine cyber security principles and network segregation.
- Working knowledge of SOLAS, IMO, IEC standards, and class requirements (DNV, ABS, LR, KR, RINA, BV).
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 8–10 years of experience in marine/offshore telecom engineering or project execution.
- Experience with shipyards, OEMs, EPCs, or marine system integrators.
- Proven experience in FAT, commissioning, and sea-trial activities.
- Exposure to DP-2/DP-3 vessels is preferred.
