The Commercial & Investment Bank at JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join an agile team delivering technology products for Payments Technology. The role involves enterprise-scale web applications and backend services, with React-based frontends and Java/Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, GraphQL, and cloud-native components. The engineer will design, build, test, and maintain secure, scalable production systems and contribute to architecture, automation, and troubleshooting.
What you will do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-scale web applications and backend services supporting Payments Technology capabilities.
- Deliver modern frontend solutions using React, micro frontend architecture, reusable components, and responsive user interface patterns.
- Build and maintain scalable Java / Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, GraphQL, and distributed application components.
- Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Produce secure, high-quality production code that meets functional, non-functional, resiliency, performance, and maintainability requirements.
