About the role
Razorpay's engineering organization builds and scales payment software products with significant reach across India. The team focuses on developer productivity platforms, tools, and processes supporting large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. This lead software development engineer role leads a technical team and works on developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, containerized cloud infrastructure, automation, and AI-driven developer tooling.

What the employer is looking for
- 8+ years of total experience in software development, with at least 2 years in the leading technical team.
- Strong programming skills, with experience in Golang as an SDE.
- Proven track record in building and managing developer productivity platforms, tools, and processes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform).
- Experience in distributed systems, handling large-scale data processing, and maintaining high-performance products.
- Deep understanding of AI-driven developer tools, code generation/testing, and their integration into development workflows.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience in a Developer Experience/Productivity or Platform Engineering team.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth product environments.
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong presence on GitHub.
- Familiarity with additional backend programming languages like Java or Python.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including security testing in CI/CD and RBAC policies in Kubernetes.
