About the role
The role sits within Mahindra's vehicle electronics engineering function, focused on display modules and other E&E aggregates for vehicles. It covers display module architecture and specifications, optical and electrical validation and testing, failure analysis, and supplier collaboration from concept through SOP. The Lead Engineer leads the team, drives design concepts and POCs for future display technologies, and manages design release, validation and field failure tracking.
What you will do
- Should be capable of leading the team from front for overall delivery.
- Should know the design concepts and future technologies from global market and execution of the same
- Defining and reviewing display module architecture and specifications.
- Executing validation and testing plans for optical and electrical performance.
- Conducting failure analysis on display defects to improve product quality.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure quality and production goals.
- Handling displays performance data analysis using tools like Imaging Colorimeters, Goniometer etc.
- Managing display-related engineering issues during product ramp and field returns.
- Should be able to visualize and develop design concepts within the consideration of functional requirement (design / cost / weight targets), position (spatial arrangement, interactions, boundary conditions), geometry (dimension/tolerance etc.), gap and flushness considering the vehicle level requirements/ constraints of systems/subsystems (as an input to the SOR) and thereby executing first time innovative solutions and
- Should be able to work on POC for future technologies.
- Should capture all technical requirements on SOR, DVP,TSO, TKO meeting all functional, interface quality & regulatory standards/requirements with in project time line.
- Interact with supplier from concept to SOP capturing all SOR requirements.
- Address and assist team for build & validation issues until SOP.
- Managing and tracking of design release, development, validation & field failures
- Review & release technical specifications & other documentations
- Must demonstrate a high degree of problem solving ability
- Usage of tools used in DFMEA, problem solving technique and project management tools
- Fluent in use of personal computer programs such as Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, project etc.
- should know to handle CATIA for leading the team by showing necessary section and model requirement.

- BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech in ECE/EEE/E and I/Automobile Engineering
- Very Good Vehicle system knowledge in Display and other E&E agregates in the vehicle
- Market research & Industry trend analysis through tools like benchmarking, networking, conferences, papers, etc
- Design thinking through collaboration with internal studio, experts across industries & suppliers for amalgamating the technology into the product
- Exposure in Catia V5, Knowledge in electronics & LEDs
- Program management skills
- Basic level knowledge in Vehicle electronics
- Interfacing with all inter dept teams right from marketing to service as so to start from understanding the marketing requirements and till service related activities. i.e., from start to end of project
- Abreast on latest technologies across industry
- Maintaining quality level tragets as per agreement
- Adhering to committed timelines
- Program management & detailed documentation
- Open to short/medium term travel on need basis, across India & overseas
