About the role
Qualcomm's portfolio of wireless networking platforms delivers advanced Wi-Fi and networking technologies for high-performance smart home and enterprise experiences, and the Connectivity group builds next-generation wireless routers, access points and gateways. Software engineers in the WLAN Host Software team design and develop WLAN Host Drivers for Qualcomm WLAN chipsets. This role works on cutting-edge WiFi technologies, develops new WLAN features, solves Wi-Fi design and performance challenges, and collaborates with hardware and firmware engineers as well as leading WiFi ODMs and OEMs globally.

What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor's in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- 6-8 years of experience in WLAN driver or Networking driver or Networking/WLAN protocol development
- Hands on experience working in the Linux kernel & Linux kernel device drivers
- Strong C programming skills
- Hands on experience in solving complex system issues with good problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred qualifications
- Masters in Computer Science or Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- Good WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be knowledge would be a strong plus
- Hands on experience in Wireless LAN driver development is preferred
- Knowledge of common interfaces, such as USB, MII, PCI/e would be a plus
- Good knowledge of basic network protocols such as TCP/UDP/IPv4/IPv6/ARP/DHCP will be plus
