About the role
The role sits within Mahindra's commercial vehicle engineering organisation, focused on powertrain mounting (PT Mount) systems for small commercial vehicles. The work spans CATIA V5 design of sheet metal and cast components, GD&T, DFMEA/DVP generation, NVH and durability validation, and interaction with CAE, NVH, CDMM, validation, plant and homologation teams. The Lead Engineer owns project execution from concept through production while meeting quality, cost, delivery and weight targets.
What you will do
- Ability to design Powertrain Mounting system for Small Commercial Vehicles.
- Deliver Powertrain mounting system as per QCDW (Quality, cost, delivery, weight) for projects
- Good Hands on experience in CATIA V5, GD&T / Drafting of sheet metal & Casting components.
- Ability to generate Multiple innovative Design concepts for Powertrain mounting system
- Knowledge of Metallurgy, manufacturing Processes, Welding technology for Sheet Metal & casting components.
- Interact with CAE, NVH, CDMM, validation, plant team, homologation for aggregate development
- Ability to resolve the Field, manufacturing, service & quality issues related to PT Mounts.
- DFMEA, Design review, DVP generation, RCA analysis using QC tools.
- Ability to handle Field problems for existing vehicles in engine mounts.
- Ability to analyse pros and cons of different designs considering performance, cost, packaging.
- Ability to deliver the Project execution from concept to production stage. Handled at least one project with complete lifecycle.
- Understanding of customer needs & generate innovative solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively, self driven, good team player.

- Experience 4-7 years
- B.E/B. Tech-Mechanical/Automobile, or M.E./M. Tech- Mechanical/Automobile
- Knowledge of different types of PT Mounts & technologies.
- Innovative thinking and Ability to generate Multiple CAD Design concept for PT mounts
- Vehicle system level functioning/design of Commercial Vehicle Systems, Categories & Application
- Good hands on RLDA for PT mounts, Block cycles, Rig level testing, life calculation for PT mounts.
- Ability to handle Vehicle level NVH development, resolve critical NVH concerns in Low idle, dynamic conditions, Tip in/out, launch judder & Durability concerns.
- Knowledge of Rubber manufacturing & technology.
- Knowledge of 6 DOF, 16 DOF, TRA, Packaging envelopes for Powertrain.
- Knowledge of bolted joints, joint integrity, DFA, DFM, DFS.
