About the role
This is a Payments processor role within American Express, processing payments in the Payment Portal and different Bank Portals related to Treasury, Inter Company, CBR, and other areas. It is a global role responsible for ensuring that all Critical, Regulated and Contractual payments are remitted to third parties accurately and timely. The incumbent handles payment requests from Business Units, day-end reconciliation, bank liaison, payment trackers, and auditor information requests.
What you will do
- Processing payment requests received from various Business Units in Payment Portal.
- Accurate and timely processing of payments within defined SLA's
- Understanding the complexities and nuisances related to payments norms of individual markets
- Ensuring that payment requests are duly approved by authorized approvers of respective Business Units
- Performing the Day end reconciliation of payments
- Communicating and liasioning with banks to follow up on the status of the payments
- Maintaining daily payment trackers
- Providing relevant information to Auditors from Payment Portal
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Must be a Graduate or higher with minimum work experience of 2 - 3 years
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Prior knowledge of banking systems and payment operations will be an advantage
- Good communication (verbal & written) skills, highly motivated and self-starter
