About the role
IBM Consulting works with clients across industries to shape their hybrid cloud and AI journeys, backed by IBM technology, strategic partners, and Red Hat. The Infrastructure & Technology team delivers and manages cloud infrastructure solutions for client environments. As an Infrastructure Specialist for Cloud Platforms, the role manages and implements infrastructure across multiple cloud environments according to established designs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security while collaborating with IT teams to integrate cloud solutions.
What you will do
- Set Up and Configure Cloud Infrastructure: Set up, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage solutions, networking, and databases across different cloud platforms to effectively support business applications.
- Implement and Oversee Cloud Resources: Implement and oversee essential cloud resources such as Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), Load Balancers, and Cloud Storage solutions to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and Troubleshoot Infrastructure: Continuously monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations to ensure reliable performance.
- Apply Security Measures: Apply and enforce security measures to ensure cloud infrastructure complies with organizational policies and industry regulations.
- Optimize Cloud Costs: Optimize cloud costs by right-sizing resources, developing cost-effective solutions, and monitoring usage patterns.
