About the role
The Human Capital Management division recruits, develops and rewards Goldman Sachs people and implements strategies, processes and technologies to help them advance professionally. People Analytics sits within Reward & People Analytics and provides firmwide and regional workforce data, reporting and analysis across headcount, payroll, attrition, compensation and talent. This Associate role owns end-to-end People Analytics outputs, including compensation disclosures, dashboards, headcount planning and stakeholder narratives using tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Business Objects and Anaplan.
What you will do
- Own outputs end-to-end: Deliver assigned People Analytics outputs - including EMEA compensation disclosures, year-end compensation reporting, headcount, attrition and payroll roll-forwards, and recurring stakeholder reporting - with a high standard of data accuracy and on agreed timelines.
- Deep-dive analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of HCM data across talent processes (performance ratings, promotions, talent reviews, compensation) to identify trends, patterns and opportunities.
- Dashboards & tools: Contribute to the development, maintenance and validation of reporting dashboards and packs, including Power BI reporting and Business Objects / Anaplan outputs.
- Headcount & planning support: Coordinate headcount data and projections for capacity planning, location strategy and budgeting, partnering with the Executive Office and Real Estate teams.
- Partner with senior leadership: Work directly with Regional HCM Heads, Divisional Heads, Chiefs of Staff and the Executive Office to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Insight, not just data: Develop compelling narratives and visualizations that translate complex data into clear implications and recommendations for senior audiences.
- Regulatory & disclosure support: Support strategic and regulatory workstreams such as EU Pay Transparency readiness, UK Gender Pay Gap and other regional compliance reporting.
- Automate and simplify: Identify and implement process improvements across recurring workflows (e.g., year-end comp, disclosure reporting), using tools such as Alteryx to standardize and automate validation and controls.
- Quality & controls: Apply structured quality-assurance and reconciliation practices to ensure accuracy and minimize restatements across published outputs.
- AI as leverage: Adopt approved AI use cases (e.g., drafting narratives, scenario modelling) to increase speed and scale, while owning the thinking and the outcome.
- Subject-matter expertise: Build and share knowledge to become a go-to resource for at least one critical process area.
