About the role
The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is a leading hospitality group whose flagship brand Taj and other brands such as SeleQtions, Gateway, Vivanta, Ginger, Tree of Life, and amã Stays & Trails span luxury, upscale, and lean luxe segments across 14 countries. This full-time, on-site Housekeeping Associate role in Ooty maintains guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to IHCL’s cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards. The associate handles daily room and laundry tasks, responds to guest requests, coordinates with the front office and other departments, reports maintenance or safety issues, supports housekeeping supply inventory, and may help train new team members on standard operating procedures.
What you will do
- The associate is responsible for maintaining guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to IHCL’s standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.
- Daily tasks include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting and vacuuming, replenishing amenities and linen, and handling laundry items as required.
- The role involves responding promptly and courteously to guest requests, coordinating with the front office and other departments, and reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- The associate also supports inventory control of housekeeping supplies, follows all safety and sanitation protocols, and may assist in training new team members on standard operating procedures.

- Prior experience in housekeeping or hospitality is preferred; fresh candidates with a strong service mindset may also be considered.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, safety, and sanitization practices in a hotel environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights for extended periods as part of daily duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is desirable.
