About the role
The Global Business and Finance Support (GBFS) team supports HQ and global regional teams on Finance & Business Operation activities. This Senior Financial Analyst role supports Procurement in assessing vendor financial health, coordinating with third parties to obtain financial statements, and conducting financial statement analysis to identify and report risks. The role also supports capital markets ad-hoc analysis and the company’s Ventures process, working closely with finance teams and business units across Qualcomm.
What you will do
- Ensure accurately and timely deliverables of (transactional and analytics) financial packages and reporting.
- Assisting in analyzing the financial statements and highlighting key findings.
- Detailed analysis for financial statements and in depth understanding of Balance Sheet.
- Assisting global teams with financial guidance.
- Performing research and analysis as required.
- Updating Financial system with the latest data.
- Work closely with HQ and global region teams with regular interaction to reviews, drive transition calls, process documentation for all activities.
- Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.
- Support in all capital markets ad-hoc analysis and transactions including areas such as: capital structure and allocation analysis, share repurchases, bank group support.
- Support of company’s Ventures process including funding for new investments and tracking financial health for existing investments
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Master’s in finance from reputed B-school (MBA / M. Com) or Qualified CA/CMA
- 6+ years of e experience in understanding and analysis of Financial statements like Balance Sheet/Cash Flows/ Statement of Profit & Loss.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Oracle, Cognos TM1 or similar finance system tools is preferred.
- Experience utilizing Bloomberg is a Plus
- Strong interest in financial markets
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to communicate with both internal and external partners.
- Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to review process and support team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and upskills with tools – Tableau, Power BI etc.
- Flexible for evening calls for reviews and transition calls on regular basis with global teams.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 3+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.
- Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
