Siemens Energy India Limited (SEIL) is a pure play energy technology company with a footprint across India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives, offering low to zero emissions power generation, power transmission and storage, and industrial decarbonization solutions. This Execution Lead – Marine role owns end-to-end execution of marine engineering and service projects across marine electrical, automation, propulsion and auxiliary systems, from planning and mobilization through installation, commissioning, sea trials and handover.
What you will do
- Develop work schedules and resource plans for approvals; mobilise and optimize manpower, spares and tools across projects and customer locations.
- Act as final point of contact for clients, delivering projects from mobilization to handover within agreed timeline, cost and reliability targets. Oversee installation, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance of marine equipment, guiding complex field-service issues.
- Engage shipyards, shipowners, operators and maritime authorities, ensuring compliance with local and international maritime laws.
- Support bid and commercial teams during tenders and customer discussions with technical evaluation, estimation and design review inputs.
- Lead and mentor Operations, Project and Technical teams; manage recruitment, training, deployment and performance of engineers and technicians.
- Improve technical service processes and standards with global product teams;enforce QHSE protocols and operational .
- Act as the single point of accountability for the successful execution of marine projects from project kick-o?¯ through installation, commissioning, testing, sea trials, delivery, and project closure.
- Develop detailed execution plans, schedules, manpower allocation plans, and mobilization strategies for project approval.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, quality, and reliability requirements.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrade activities for marine electrical, automation, propulsion, and auxiliary systems.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery.
- Plan and optimize deployment of engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and service personnel across multiple projects and customer locations.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower and technical resources to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
- Manage procurement and availability of spare parts, specialized tools,consumables, and site equipment required for project execution.
- Coordinate logistics, travel arrangements, vessel access requirements, and sitereadiness activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support for complex field-service issues,commissioning challenges, and customer escalations.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with global engineering, product management, and R&D teams on technical issues, product improvements, and new technology implementations.
- Establish and improve technical service standards, work instructions, and execution best practices.
- Serve as the primary interface for customers during project execution.
- Build strong relationships with shipyards, shipowners, vessel operators, EPC contractors, consultants, classification societies, and maritime authorities.
- Conduct customer meetings, technical reviews, project status discussions, and progress reporting.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through responsive support and effective communication.
- Conduct performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and establish development plans.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with company QHSE policies, customer requirements,and maritime regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all field activities and project sites.
- Ensure compliance with classification society requirements, flag state regulations, and applicable international maritime standards.
- Conduct safety reviews, audits, lessons learned sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in marine / electrical.
- 10–15 years in marine or offshore project execution and service, with proven team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of marine equipment, commissioning, class rules and maritime regulations.
- Solid cost, schedule, contract and stakeholder management skills; willing to travel to shipyards, vessels and customer sites.
