About the role
HDFC Bank is hiring an enterprise platform security architect to secure mission-critical applications on its enterprise SRE and AI platform across multi-cloud and on-premises environments. The role spans cloud-native and on-prem services (AWS, GCP, OCP), Kubernetes containerization, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, service mesh, API gateways, observability and identity management. The architect will define the platform architecture roadmap, set standards and governance, lead modernization efforts, and conduct security reviews and threat modeling in line with NIST, CIS, PCI-DSS and RBI audit requirements.
What you will do
- Define and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise architecture roadmap for platform engineering, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategies.
- Lead the evaluation and adoption of cloud- native/on-prem services (AWS, GCP, OCP), containerization (Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks.
- Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across platform components such as CI/CD pipelines, service mesh, API gateways, observability, and identity management.
- Act as a thought leader in DevOps, SRE, and Platform-as-a-Product principles.
- Mentor platform and solution architects, fostering a culture of architectural excellence and continuous improvement.
- Create governance models to ensure compliance, scalability, and integration across business units and cloud environments.
- Lead platform migration or modernization efforts (e.g., from legacy systems to cloud-native infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with standards aligned with Bank and standard frameworks like NIST or CIS benchmark, PCIDSS, ISO8583, etc.
- Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and design assessments for cloud-native and hybrid applications.
- Experience attending RBI CSITE audits, SAR Audits, DPSC etc. would be useful.

- 11-15 years of experience.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity protocols, cryptography, security software, and IT infrastructure.
- Proficiency in various programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, Java) for creating solutions and proof-of-concepts.
- Proficiency in using various security tools and technologies.
- Ability to assess, analyse, and mitigate security risks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve security issues
- Security Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty Certification, CISSP, ISSAP, CCSP, or PCI-DSS ISA or similar are valued.
