About the role
HDFC Bank is seeking an experienced banking-domain platform engineering and Site Reliability Engineering specialist to architect and govern enterprise-grade platform solutions. The role focuses on scalable, secure, and resilient banking platforms, cloud migration, containerization, infrastructure as code, and observability and reliability. It involves collaborating with SRE, DevOps, and infrastructure teams and enforcing architectural standards across the organization.
What you will do
- Architect and govern enterprise-grade platform solutions that support high availability, scalability, and security across banking applications and services.
- Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to design resilient systems with automated monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, principles, and best practices for platform engineering and reliability across the organization.
- Lead modernization initiatives including cloud migration, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Drive platform observability and reliability metrics (e.g., SLOs, SLAs, error budgets),ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
- Review and approve technical architecture documents, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals, security policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PCI DSS,GDPR).

- Enterprise Architecture & Design: Expertise in designing scalable, secure, and modular banking platforms aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Cloud & Containerization: Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Deep understanding of reliability principles, SLO/SLAs, incident management, and automation for operational excellence.
- DevOps & Infrastructure as Code: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, and other automation tools to streamline platform delivery and management.
- Security & Compliance: Proficiency in embedding security architecture (IAM, zero trust, encryption) and ensuring compliance with banking regulations (PCI DSS, GDPR).
- Observability & Monitoring: Skilled in implementing and leveraging monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog) to maintain system health and troubleshoot issues.
- Leadership & Communication: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and communicate complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning & Innovation: Aptitude for technology evaluation, roadmap development, and driving innovation within enterprise banking platforms.
