About the role
People Operations (POps) Solutions designs and delivers SPII-compliant, enterprise-grade AI workspaces that integrate into core People Operations workflows, acting as unified command centers and specialized AI co-pilots that automate high-volume processes and scale operational capacity. The role sits within Core, the team that builds the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure behind Google's flagship products. The Engineering Manager will lead engineers across multiple teams and locations, set technical direction and roadmaps, and deliver AI-native, agentic enterprise solutions spanning agentic applications, full-stack workbenches, and autonomous operational workflows.
What you will do
- Set and communicate team priorities. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams. Leverage telemetry, offline/online benchmarks, and developer tooling to improve product excellence, production reliability, and engineering execution velocity across agentic workflows.
- Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
- Develop the mid-term technical direction and roadmap within the scope of your (often multiple) team(s). Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Deliver AI-native, agentic enterprise solutions across POps Solutions core pillars building enterprise-grade agentic applications, full-stack workbenches and autonomous operational workflows.
- Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and write product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
