About the role
Qualcomm's portfolio of wireless networking platforms delivers advanced Wi-Fi and networking technologies for smart home and enterprise experiences, and the Connectivity group's WLAN Host Software team designs and develops WLAN host drivers for Qualcomm WLAN chipsets. The team works on next-generation wireless routers, access points and gateways with leading Wi-Fi ODMs and OEMs across the globe. This role involves developing new WLAN features, solving Wi-Fi design and performance issues, and working with hardware and firmware engineers on end-to-end wireless LAN solutions.

What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor's in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- 6-8 years of experience in WLAN driver or Networking driver or Networking/WLAN protocol development
- Hands on experience working in the Linux kernel & Linux kernel device drivers
- Strong C programming skills
- Hands on experience in solving complex system issues with good problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
Preferred qualifications
- Masters in Computer Science or Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- Good WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be knowledge would be a strong plus
- Hands on experience in Wireless LAN driver development is preferred
- Knowledge of common interfaces, such as USB, MII, PCI/e would be a plus
- Good knowledge of basic network protocols such as TCP/UDP/IPv4/IPv6/ARP/DHCP will be plus
