About the role
The role sits within Mahindra's chassis and suspension engineering function supporting vehicle programs. Work spans system design, vehicle dynamics analysis, validation documentation such as DVP&R and DFMEA, CAE collaboration, and supplier-facing development. The engineer also owns rig test planning, root cause resolution of development and field issues, and cost/weight optimization through the product development lifecycle.
What you will do
- Design and development of Suspension & Chassis systems for vehicle programs.
- Perform system design calculations and vehicle dynamics analysis to meet performance targets.
- Conduct fastener selection and strength calculations.
- Drive benchmarking activities and cascade system-level targets into component requirements.
- Prepare and maintain DVP&R, DFMEA, and related design validation documents.
- Collaborate with CAE teams for design optimization, simulation correlation, and performance improvements.
- Review and approve supplier and in-house engineering drawings.
- Resolve technical and manufacturing feasibility issues with suppliers.
- Coordinate with Material Management and cross-functional teams for timely part development and sourcing.
- Develop rig test plans and validation strategies to establish durability and reliability targets.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of development and field-related concerns.
- Execute cost reduction and weight optimization initiatives without compromising quality and performance.
- Prepare and analyze tolerance stack-ups to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with quality, performance, cost, and timing requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
