About the role
Qualcomm's Human Resources Group, specifically the Employee Communications team within People Solutions and Services, informs, connects, engages, and inspires a global workforce through messaging, channels, and digital tools. The role sits in an HR shared-services communications function that supports HR programs, employee experience, and engagement across the organization. The Communications Specialist will develop and edit employee communications content, publish and manage channels using Staffbase, ServiceNow, and SharePoint, and execute integrated multi-channel campaigns.
What you will do
- Develop, write, edit, and proofread high-quality employee communications across multiple formats, including email campaigns, intranet articles, newsletters, presentations, FAQs, video scripts
- Lead communication support for HR programs and initiatives, including wellbeing, talent development, employee experience, recognition, benefits, and organizational initiatives.
- Manage and publish content through Staffbase, ensuring timely, engaging, and effective delivery across employee communication channels.
- Utilize ServiceNow and SharePoint to manage communication intake processes, workflows, approvals, content repositories, and stakeholder requests.
- Partner with HR, Employee Communications, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop communication strategies, key messaging, and integrated campaign plans.
- Execute multi-channel communication campaigns leveraging email, intranet, digital signage, newsletters, and other employee communication channels.
- Create visually compelling communication materials, including infographics, presentations, and other digital assets that simplify complex information and enhance employee engagement.
- Manage employee distribution lists, audience segmentation, and communication targeting to ensure accurate and effective message delivery.
- Coordinate translation requirements and manage external vendor relationships to support global communication needs.
- Maintain communication calendars, content governance practices, and channel operations to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve communication processes, channel effectiveness, and employee engagement through data-driven insights and best practices.
- Manage multiple communication projects simultaneously while balancing stakeholder priorities and meeting deadlines.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Human Resources, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in internal communications, employee communications, HR communications, or a related discipline.
- Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience supporting communications for large, geographically dispersed employee populations.
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Employee Communications or related work experience. OR Associate's degree and 4+ years of Employee Communications or related work experience. OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of Employee Communications or related work experience.
- *Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Staffbase for employee communications, content publishing, campaign execution, and channel management.
- Experience using ServiceNow for request intake, workflow management, approvals, and communications operations.
- Experience managing and administering content within SharePoint environments.
- Experience working within a global shared services or center-of-excellence communications function.
- Demonstrated success delivering enterprise-wide, multi-channel communication campaigns.
- Strong visual communication skills, including the creation of infographics and presentation materials.
- Experience supporting HR, employee engagement, change management, or organizational communications initiatives.
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
