About the role
ElevenLabs is an AI research and product company whose platforms span voice and chat agents, creative media generation, and AI audio foundational models via API. The Legal Team in India supports complex commercial transactions across India and the broader APAC region, including SaaS, licensing, and strategic partnerships. This Commercial Counsel role will draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with a primary focus on GTM/Sales transactions, while advising on evolving data protection, technology, and AI regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
What you will do
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales transactions in India, including enterprise customer contracts
- Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams to design and implement strategies that support high-growth go-to-market initiatives.
- Monitor and interpret evolving region specific legal and regulatory developments, including data protection, technology, and AI-related frameworks, and apply this knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment.
- Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to reflect regional requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams, tailoring advice to enable responsible growth and innovation.
- Contribute to scaling the Legal Team's commercial function, fostering a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture.

- Law degree and qualification to practice law in India
- 7+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience (in-house experience in technology or SaaS strongly preferred).
- Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property.
- Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer issues.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
