About the role
Qualcomm is seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer to drive pre-silicon power analysis, optimization, and silicon correlation for next-generation DSP and NSP architectures. The role focuses on evaluating and improving pre-silicon power analysis methodologies, understanding the strengths and limitations of various power estimation tools, and enabling early power optimization through actionable insights. The engineer will also work closely with silicon validation teams to characterize performance and power on silicon, compare results against pre-silicon estimates, and help improve correlation accuracy.
What you will do
- Evaluate and compare pre-silicon power analysis and estimation tools across simulation, emulation, and modeling environments.
- Analyze tool methodologies, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to improve power estimation accuracy and usability.
- Drive adoption of best-in-class capabilities from various power analysis tools to improve pre-silicon power optimization workflows.
- Perform workload-level and block-level power analysis for DSP/NSP subsystems.
- Identify power hotspots and optimization opportunities across architecture, RTL, and software layers.
- Measure and characterize performance and power behavior on silicon platforms.
- Correlate silicon measurements with pre-silicon estimates and investigate sources of mismatch.
- Develop methodologies and automation to improve power prediction accuracy and correlation efficiency.
- Analyze packet flows, data movement, memory traffic, and workload behavior to understand their impact on power and performance.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, software, performance, and silicon validation teams to drive power-efficient solutions.
- Generate technical reports and present findings to stakeholders and engineering leadership.
