About the role
Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation, part of Schneider Electric, offers low-voltage and medium-voltage switchgear, automation solutions, software, and services for homes, buildings, infrastructure, and industry. This role sits in the Medium Voltage R&D department, which works on enhancing medium voltage equipment performance and longevity through material innovation. The Deputy Manager will conduct IEC type tests at third-party labs, run in-house verification and validation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to release new packages and products to production on schedule.
What you will do
- Contributing to research and development for enhancing medium voltage equipment performance and longevity through material innovation.
- Providing technical expertise in material selection, performance, and reliability.
- Conduct Type tests as per IEC for MV GIS products at third-party labs like CPRI, ERDA, and CESI. Indepth knowledge of IEC std.
- Conducting in-house verification & validation for medium voltage equipment
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to successful completion of V&V activities.
- Follow the V&V program to ensure new package/product release to production within the timeline.

- B.Tech /B.E./M.Tech /M.E. (Mechanical / Electrical)
- Research and Development: Experience in contributing to R&D projects. Design Assurance, Verification & Validation for medium voltage products, Product Validation.
- Type Testing: Proficiency in conducting type testing of MV products, Certification, and coordination with test labs & external parties for smooth execution of tests.
- Technical documentation: Able to create & maintain technical documents, validation reports, and verification plans.
- Hands-on experience: Able to design & develop test arrangements, assemble type test panels, and conduct internal verification & validation trials.
- Inhouse test facility management:- able to create & maintain the test arrangements for MV products, subassemblies & components.
- Analytical Thinking: The ability to analyze complex material-related issues and provide innovative solutions for medium voltage applications.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Capability to approach challenges systematically, make wellinformed decisions, and implement effective problem-solving strategies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders and to communicate technical concepts.
