About the role
The role sits within Mahindra Group's FD CDMM function at Chakan, covering cost reduction engineering (CRE) for tractor components. The Deputy Manager acts as Idea Generation Champion, running cross-functional techno-commercial feasibility studies and value engineering (VAVE) change proposals across casting, forging, proprietary, electrical and sheet metal parts. The work includes business case preparation, BOM cost analysis, benchmarking, supplier and dealership workshops, and MIS/portal upkeep.
What you will do
- Conduting CFT meetings for Idea Techno-commercial feasibility Study with Stake holders (Designer+CDMM+MKTG+CC+MFG)
- De-bottlenecking & advocacy for the idea feasibility with all stake holders
- Idea Approval through e-VECP (Value engg. change Propsoal)- (with Design/commodity/SSU/MKTG/CC/Sales/QA /CDMM/SSU as applicable)
- Business case Preparation for BIG Ticket CRE Projects-(Tooling cost & part cost consolidation with capex & revex requirement) including Proto build up.
- Maintaining MIS and Digital Portal updation ( eVECP Portal, New idea- Share point portal)
- BOM Cost analysis for generating new cost reduction ideas
- Bench marking exercise for new cost reduction ideas
- CRE workshop at supplier’s end & at dealerships
- CRE Workshops at various plants & MRV
- Feasible Idea hand over to Implementation Champion
- Engagement with external consultants for idea generation
- Sprading VE culture across organization and Suppliers through VAVE training modules.
- Participation in VAVE conferences domestic and International
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Experience 6 to 8 Years
- Minimum Qualification BE, B-Tech
- Good knowledge of Tractor Casting, Forging, Tractor Proprietary (e.g. Tyres, wheel rims etc.) , Electrical (e.g. Lamps & wiring harnesses) & Sheet metal parts (skin panels/bracketories) & processes.

- De-bottlenecking issues & escalate at right time at right level
- Hands on with advance excel, SAP , TEAM CENTRE and Cordys

- Should Demonstrate e-CAB behaviour in working as a CRE Champion
