About the role
Jio is inviting applications for the role of Database Administrator PostgreSQL & MSSQL. The position covers administration of MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments, including installation, high availability, backup and recovery, performance tuning and 24x7 production support. The role involves managing database servers across development through mission-critical production systems and assisting developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
What you will do
- Installation of SQL Server on cluster environment
- Performance monitoring and tuning
- Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Installation and configuration of PostgreSQL on linux

- Education : MCA/ Btech /BE
- Experience: 05-10 years
- Complete knowledge of Backup and recovery
- Should have knowledge of Database Security policies
- Should have knowledge of high availability (Cluster, Mirroring, logshipping, always on)
- Should have good knowledge of issues and trouble shooting.
- Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to organize and plan work independently
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture
- Knowledge on PostgreSQL Streaming replication and Master slave and troubleshooting
- Must have knowledge of setting PostgreSQL clustering , tuning, troubleshooting
- Must have good knowledge of Performance tuning of PostgreSQL databases.
- Must have good knowledge of PostgreSQL database up-gradation
- Understanding PostgreSQL Backup & Recovery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to organize and plan work independently.
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- Working Knowledge in PgBadger, pgPool and RepMgr
