About the role
You will be part of Atlassian's Data Engineering team, which partners closely with data consumers and producers to ensure the quality and usefulness of data assets, and works alongside product teams and the Data Science and Analytics Platform teams. The work spans strategizing measurement, collecting data, and generating insights that help understand and improve product experience and engagement, optimize efficiency and costs, and drive strategy. In this role you will work across responsibilities such as defining metrics, instrumenting logging, ingesting, architecting and modeling data, transforming data, and ensuring data quality, governance, and enablement, along with alerting, visualization, and reporting.

Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s / Masters degree (or equivalent work experience) in a STEM field
- 2+ Years of Experience in Data Engineering or related fields
- Expertise in Python or other modern programming language development experience
- Knowledge of advanced level capabilities in SQL and relational databases experience
- Solid working knowledge of ETL (ELT), Data modeling, DataQuality, and Data Visualization/Dashboarding
- Experience working with product analytics
Preferred qualifications
- 4+ Years of Experience in Data Engineering or related fields OR 2+ Years of experience in Data Engineering along with a post-graduate degree or equivalent in a related field
- An understanding of the SaaS business model and data structures
- Experience in Enterprise Software product development
