About the role
The Customer Journey Labs team at Barclays builds secure, scalable and resilient applications, with primary accountability for PING ID solutions. The role involves hands-on software engineering, solution design, code reviews, architecture governance, and technical delivery using Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, and identity standards such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. The engineer collaborates with product, architecture, security, platform, and QA teams to deliver integrated digital solutions.
What you will do
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Hands-on in software engineering activities, including Coding, solution design, code reviews, architecture governance, troubleshooting and technical delivery.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
- To perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement.
- Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in PROOFID skillset, Java, JavaScript, Junit, API, Docker and Google Cloud platform.
- Build modern CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, security controls and release automation.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owner, Solution Architect, Security, Platform and QA teams to deliver integrated digital solutions.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, risk, governance and regulatory requirements.
- Support cross-platform initiatives through working knowledge of iOS development principles and mobile ecosystem standards.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and team growth initiatives.
