About the role
IBM Infrastructure & Technology designs and operates high-resiliency mainframes, hybrid cloud platforms, networking, automation, and site reliability systems, ensuring performance, security, and scalability for clients and industries worldwide. The team works across diverse technologies and global colleagues to deliver resilient, future-ready solutions. This role builds and maintains modern web applications with React and TypeScript, develops backend services and APIs in Go, Python, or Java, and delivers scalable cloud-native applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift with CI/CD and DevOps automation.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Build and enhance backend services and APIs using Go, Python, or Java.
- Develop scalable cloud-native applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to deliver intuitive and responsive user experiences.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation.
- Perform code reviews and ensure security, quality, and compliance standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
- Contribute to technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing across the team.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- 5+ years of software development experience with frontend and backend technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern UI frameworks.
- Experience developing backend applications and APIs using Go, Python, or Java.
- Strong understanding of system design, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
- Expertise in Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker/Podman, and containerized deployments.
- Experience with Git, GitHub workflows, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkinsfile development.
- Proficiency in Linux, Shell scripting, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or IBM Cloud.
- Experience building end-to-end full stack applications from UI to backend services.
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and UI performance optimization.
- Experience with API design, integration patterns, and event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of Generative AI, AI/ML frameworks, and AI integration into applications.
- Familiarity with container networking, storage, and platform operations.
- Experience with observability tools, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to quickly learn emerging technologies and drive innovation across the development lifecycle.
