About the role

Paytm is India's leading mobile payments and financial services distribution company, serving 500 mn+ registered users and 21 mn+ merchants through QR payments and digital financial services. The merchant lending business works at the intersection of product, analytics and growth to democratize credit for merchants. This role owns the end-to-end lending funnel in the app, from offer discovery and KYC through disbursal and repeat borrowing, driving growth experiments, metrics frameworks and AI-led automation.

What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end lending funnel in the app: offer discovery, eligibility, application, KYC, e-sign/e-mandate, disbursal, repayment and repeat borrowing.
  • Dig into data to diagnose funnel leaks, cohort behaviour and segment-level differences, and turn findings into a prioritised growth roadmap.
  • Define the growth hypotheses, write BRDs and work with product/ engineering and design to ship features — smarter offer placement, pre-filled applications, faster KYC, one-tap top-ups, renewal nudges.
  • Design and analyse A/B tests rigorously: hypothesis, sample size, guardrail metrics, statistical significance, and incrementality.
  • Build and maintain the metrics framework and dashboards for merchant lending (north-star, input metrics, cohort views).
  • Work with Campaigns/CRM to make product surfaces and lifecycle communication work together.
  • Coordinate closely with the Product team on roadmap priorities, and with the Data Warehouse (DWH) / data engineering team to define events, data models and pipelines so lending metrics are accurate, timely and self-serve.
  • Drive AI and automation across growth workflows — e.g. automated segmentation and offer targeting, propensity models for who to nudge and when, auto-generated reports and alerts, and AI-assisted merchant communication — reducing manual effort and speeding up experiments.
  • Talk to merchants regularly — calls, field visits, user research — to keep the roadmap grounded in real needs.
