About the role
The team builds the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) test frameworks and simulation workflows that validate the safety functions of autonomous driving (ADAS) systems. The work spans high-performance C++ command-line tooling, automated test simulation pipelines, and system-level debugging at the intersection of ADAS software and physical vehicle ECUs. This senior role owns ADAS HiL framework architecture and maintenance for customer projects, supports Restbus simulation and SiL-to-HiL test transitions, and involves mentoring engineers and collaborating with global project teams.
What you will do
- Architect & Maintain HiL Frameworks: Own the integration, setup, and continuous maintenance of the ADAS HiL simulation framework for critical customer projects.
- Develop Core Tooling & CLI Engines: Build robust command-line tools and automate test simulation workflows to support continuous testing, execution, and debugging pipelines.
- Master System-Level Debugging: Deliver expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for framework-level issues, specialized memory errors (such as segmentation faults), and signal anomalies.
- Orchestrate Restbus Simulation: Provide advanced tier support for Restbus simulation maintenance, configuring and scaling virtual vehicle networks within customer environments.
- Mentor & Collaborate: Mentor junior team members in modern software practices, conduct design and code reviews, and drive cross-functional engineering excellence.
- Enable Test Automation: Support automation and debugging workflows to improve execution speed and test fidelity, transitioning testing pipelines smoothly from SiL to HiL environments.
- Cross-Functional Support: Directly assist customer projects with signal mapping, object bypassing, and physical-to-virtual sensor integration.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Experience: Overall 6 to 7 years of professional experience in software development, validation framework design, or automotive systems integration.
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science (CS), Information Science (IS), or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE).
- Strong Programming Foundations: Very strong programming skills in C++ (object-oriented design, memory management) and Python basics (for scripting, test definitions, and tool integration).
- Cross-Platform OS Skills: Proficient in developing, compiling, and debugging software on both Linux or Windows systems.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced Troubleshooting & Diagnosis: Exceptional debugging skills, with a proven track record of diagnosing tricky runtime failures, segmentation faults, and network protocol mismatches.
- Structured Problem Solving: Ability to seamlessly pivot from quick, pragmatic workarounds for active customer blocks to sophisticated, long-term architectural solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, motivating, and solution-oriented attitude that thrives in intercultural teams.
- Mentorship: Passion for sharing knowledge, guiding mid-to-junior engineers, and elevating the team's software engineering capabilities.
- Validation & Testing Mindset: Practical experience with structural software validation, including integration-testing, regression testing, and automated smoke-testing workflows.
- In-Vehicle Networks & Architectures: Solid understanding of ECU hardware architectures and vehicle communication protocols (e.g., CAN, SomeIP, Ethernet).
- Automotive Processes: Knowledge of standard automotive software quality frameworks, such as ASPICE and ISO 26262.
- Modern Toolchains & DevOps: Experience with software package managers (Conan), version control systems (Git), and CI/CD workflow tools (Jenkins, Azure Pipelines).
- Languages: Fluent professional communication in English.
