About the role

Cisco's Failure Analysis & Prevention team, part of the Technology and Quality organization, ensures high customer and product quality and delivers customer-focused quality and reliability solutions and infrastructure for Cisco products. The organization drives competitive advantage through innovation in manufacturing technology, test, component engineering, NPI, and closed-loop quality management. This role leads medium to large, cross-functional projects, managing scope, budgets, risks, and stakeholder alignment to improve business and process outcomes.

What you will do

  • Decisions impact the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own function/client group; contributions may result in business or process improvements
  • Manages medium to large sized projects with moderate to high risk; solution may require collaboration among cross-functional teams; there may be multiple interdependencies, and the solution could impact many applications
  • Solves highly complex problems and is able to identify viable and often innovative options, and uses analytical skills and judgment to recommend an appropriate solution
  • Helps drive process and manage projects
  • Defines and validates the project scope, plan and schedule for complex projects; define metrics for project success; select and apply standards (e.g. delivery process, roles and responsibilities, operational norms, compliance
  • Identifies risks to project success and creates mitigation plans
  • Manages project delivery process, scope and costs of complex projects with minimal supervision; drives completion of the project and mentors other team members
  • Establishes partnerships with stakeholders to build support, secure sponsorship, and ensures alignment for project outcomes, end products and/or solutions
  • Drives change by identifying impacts of the project, building awareness and support for change within the organization and contributing to development of training
  • Evaluates project results against success metrics; creates or reengineers processes and resources to improve productivity and end product

What the employer is looking for

  • Bachelors degree plus 10 years of related project/program management experience
  • Masters degree plus 7 years of related experience
  • Prior experience leading and managing cross-functional teams and external vendors
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills to manage various stakeholders expectations
  • Proven ability to define program scores, manage budgets, and allocate resources efficiently across multiple projects
  • Provide training and lead by example to new team members

Preferred qualifications

  • Masters certification in project/program management
  • Industry experience with Semiconductor or Manufacturing industry
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and analytical skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a challenging environment
