About the role
GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, and this role sits on the Total Rewards Benefits team supporting global benefits programs. The team partners with Payroll, Finance, People Operations, People Technology, Legal, brokers, and vendors across India, EMEA, and Pacific time zones. This Benefits Analyst will own day-to-day benefits operations in India, including enrollment, billing, reporting, audits, benefits events at the Bangalore hub, and process improvement.
What you will do
- Support day-to-day administration for assigned benefits programs, including eligibility, enrollment, benefits onboarding, billing, reporting, audits, quality assurance, documentation, and issue resolution, with a particular focus on India.
- Review benefits and team-member data from multiple sources, research discrepancies and root causes, and recommend next steps for manager or senior team-member review.
- Work with brokers and vendors on day-to-day benefits operations, and support the Senior Benefits Analyst with renewals, plan changes, implementations, testing, launches, and post-launch improvements. Benefits plan decisions remain with the Senior Benefits Analyst.
- Plan, host, and manage benefits events at the Bangalore hub, and coordinate assigned benefits activities across selected countries and employment arrangements. Apply documented processes and escalate questions that require deeper local or technical expertise.
- Partner with Payroll, Finance, People Operations, and People Technology on accurate reporting, billing reconciliation, eligibility data, and compliance-related processes.
- Support People Operations in resolving team-member benefits inquiries, explain moderately complex benefits topics in accessible language, and escalate cases appropriately.
- Analyze benefits utilization, cost, survey, and qualitative data to identify trends and prepare summaries, insights, and recommendations that support team priorities.
- Maintain accurate documentation, process guides, trackers, and communications; support the transition of administrative processes and recommend ways to simplify, standardize, or automate them, including responsible use of artificial intelligence tools. Protect accuracy and team-member experience, communicate progress and risks, and seek guidance on prioritizing improvements.
