About the role

Paytm is India's leading financial services company offering full-stack payments and financial solutions to consumers, offline merchants, and online platforms, on a mission to bring half a billion Indians into the mainstream economy. This role sits on the merchant/local commerce side, focused on new-business acquisition rather than traditional account maintenance. The Key Account Manager will identify prospects, build a pipeline, pitch offerings, negotiate commercials, close and onboard new merchants, and deliver measurable monthly incremental revenue.

What you will do

  • Identify and acquire new merchants/accounts through outbound prospecting, market mapping, references, networking and other lead-generation channels.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects and continuously convert prospects into live business.
  • Own the complete sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, pitching, negotiation, closure and onboarding.
  • Generate incremental business every month and take complete ownership of the revenue brought in.
  • Develop strong understanding of the local market, competitor landscape and merchant opportunities.
  • Create prospect-wise action plans to achieve monthly business targets.
  • Follow up consistently and move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and activation of newly acquired business.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline, conversion and revenue reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and upselling after initial acquisition.
