About the role

The Global Safety and Security team at DoorDash protects people, property, operations, brand, and reputation, managing safety and security risk with a technology-enabled, people-first approach. This role is based in Hyderabad and supports multiple offices across India under a 24x7, shift-based operating model. The Associate Manager serves as a regional owner for site-level safety and security execution — running access control, CCTV and visitor management systems, responding to incidents, coordinating vendors and contract guard personnel, and partnering with Workplace Experience, Facilities, and the Global Operations Center.

What you will do

  • Own day-to-day safety and security operations across offices in India.
  • Support Secure transportation services through preventive security practices and escort services
  • Operate access control, visitor management, CCTV, alarms, and related systems; investigate exceptions and escalate technical issues promptly
  • Verify employee, contractor, and visitor access, support credentialing, and follow established procedures for deliveries and restricted areas
  • Respond to security, safety, and medical incidents, coordinating immediate actions, employee support, notifications, and escalation under established playbooks
  • Inspect site conditions, report hazards or control gaps, and track corrective actions with Workplace, Facilities, and security service partners
  • Support emergency readiness through drills, evacuation procedures, business continuity activities, and practical follow-up after incidents
  • Coordinate with security vendors and cross-functional partners to maintain professional coverage and a safe, welcoming employee and visitor experience across assigned sites
  • Directly manage and develop contract security personnel, including onboarding, training, and reinforcement of SOPs
  • Maintain regular site presence through travel to assigned offices to build relationships, assess risk, and support operational consistency
  • Coordinate with Workplace Experience and Global Operations Center on off-site corporate employee event security planning and execution
  • Act as a local decision maker during incidents, ensuring calm response, clear escalation, and strong written follow-through
  • Identify gaps in site security posture through assessments and signal detection, and drive remediation with the right partners
  • Build trust with cross-functional partners by showing up reliably, communicating clearly, and setting appropriate boundaries

What the employer is looking for

  • Have 6+ years of experience in corporate safety, security operations, or a related field, with exposure to multi-site or regional environments
  • Are comfortable operating independently and making sound decisions in real-world, time-sensitive situations
  • Have working knowledge of physical security operations, including access control, visitor management, and incident response, including life safety and first aid response.
  • Communicate clearly and calmly, especially in moments of uncertainty or escalation, and document decisions effectively
  • Know how to partner cross-functionally with Workplace, HR, Real Estate, and other teams without blurring ownership
  • Are execution-oriented, with a bias toward action and accountability rather than over-engineering solutions
  • Are comfortable using data, basic metrics, and emerging tools including AI to improve visibility and operational effectiveness
  • Take ownership of outcomes and follow through, even when paths are not fully defined
  • Have hands-on experience working in a shift-based security operation, including incident response, patrols, access control, and shift handovers
  • Are willing and able to work in rotating shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays when required for 24x7 coverage

Benefits and support

  • Compensation and benefits are detailed in the job posting
