About the role
The Risk Products & Data Strategy (RPDS) group is part of American Express's Credit and Fraud Risk organization, defining and driving the transformation and modernization of risk management capabilities across the company's technology platforms. The team manages enterprise risks through the customer lifecycle, building data capabilities, decision-making frameworks, and machine learning-powered predictive models. This Associate, Product Management role supports the development and delivery of product capabilities for Next Generation Underwriting and Risk Decisioning, partnering with Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Product, Technology, Data, and Marketing teams across the product development lifecycle.
What you will do
- Supports the development and implementation of credit and fraud risk capabilities across consumer and commercial portfolios.
- Partners with Risk, Product, Technology, Data, Marketing, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear product requirements and capabilities.
- Contributes to product vision and roadmap development through business analysis, stakeholder input, and identification of opportunities and dependencies.
- Develops and maintains product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other documentation required to support delivery.
- Supports PI planning and prioritization by coordinating requirements grooming, dependencies, stakeholder inputs, and readiness activities.
- Partners with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support successful implementation.
- Tracks milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and decisions and provides clear and timely updates to stakeholders.
- Conducts analysis and prepares product documentation, presentations, status updates, and decision materials to support product and business decisions.
- Identifies opportunities to simplify processes and continuously improve product management and delivery practices.

- Understanding of Agile product development; SAFe experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with systems, data flows, APIs, databases, or technology development is preferred.
- Knowledge of credit risk, fraud risk, underwriting, onboarding, or customer management is preferred.
- Understanding of American Express risk systems and processes is desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Candidate must be flexible with the shift timings : Mon to Wed - 1:00pm to 9:30pm, Thursday - 11:00am - 7:00pm and Friday - 8:30am - 5:00pm
