About the role

The Testing Center of Excellence team strengthens the firm's control environment through disciplined testing, documentation, and issue validation aligned to the highest-priority risks. The role sits within compliance and operational risk management, covering control design and effectiveness assessment against Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other regulatory frameworks. As a Compliance and Operations Risk Test Senior Specialist, you will execute testing, lead walkthroughs with process and control owners, identify gaps, and drive remediation and testing-method improvements.

What you will do

  • Evaluate the assigned function’s control environment, including assessing the adequacy, effectiveness, and design of controls to support alignment with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other regulatory frameworks, as well as the firm’s risk priorities.
  • Execute testing processes with precision and accountability to assess the control environment, identify gaps, and prepare robust documentation (including process documents, process flows, and overview documents) that supports testing conclusions.
  • Collaborate with process and control owners and cross-functional teams on the testing schedule; obtain walkthroughs; document process changes; gather evidence; analyze potential issues; and facilitate timely reporting.
  • Support issue validation, action plan quality, and closure discipline by partnering with control owners to help ensure remediation aligns with risk acceptance and compliance expectations.
  • Lead walkthroughs and other meetings with business owners, fostering collaboration across engagements with minimal oversight.
  • Interpret policies, standards, and procedures to support accurate implementation of compliance requirements, while continuously improving control evaluation methodologies and interpreting control ratings and metrics to strengthen the compliance and operational risk management framework.
  • Propose and implement improvements to current testing methods, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the firm’s risk management.
