About the role
Flexport's Global Operations team is the front line team responsible for managing customers' supply chains end to end, managing partners and working with technology partners to drive innovation through process automation across a global network. As Assistant Manager, Ocean Operations, you will coordinate supply chain operations within the ISC region, executing the end-to-end movement of shipments and freight. The role focuses on first-in-class customer experience through quality and on-time performance, working closely with ocean carriers, cartage partners, customs, and warehouses.
What you will do
- Be accountable to achieving the highest standard of Flexport quality: shipments move on-time and exceptions are handled appropriately
- Be responsible for ensuring your work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) that
- Solve client issues quickly and ensure smooth operations at origin and destination and escalate issues as needed
- Seamlessly coordinate day-to-day logistics operations with internal and external partners such as ocean carriers, cartage partner, customs, and warehouses
- Execute the end-to-end movement of freight within a regional network
Skills used in this role

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of global forwarding or related work experience

- 4+ years of industry experience in Ocean Freight, import compliance, or Warehousing is encouraged
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Exceptional organisational, prioritisation and planning skills, and process improvement in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
- Proficient in MS Office or Google apps
