About the role
Flexport's Global Operations team is the front line team responsible for successfully managing customers' supply chains end to end, delighting customers, managing partners, and working with technology partners to drive innovation through process automation. The team uses data to manage supply chains and improve planning, responsiveness and execution across a global network. As Assistant Manager, Ocean Operations, this role executes the end-to-end movement of shipments within the ISC region, coordinating with internal and external partners such as ocean carriers, cartage partners, customs and warehouses while obsessing over quality and on-time performance.
What you will do
- Be accountable to achieving the highest standard of Flexport quality: shipments move on-time and exceptions are handled appropriately
- Be responsible for ensuring your work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) that
- Solve client issues quickly and ensure smooth operations at origin and destination and escalate issues as needed
- Your team will:
- Seamlessly coordinate day-to-day logistics operations with internal and external partners such as ocean carriers, cartage partner, customs, and warehouses
- Execute the end-to-end movement of freight within a regional network
Skills used in this role

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of global forwarding or related work experience
- Growth mindset - always looking for ways to improve yourself and your work
- 4+ years of industry experience in Ocean Freight, import compliance, or Warehousing is encouraged
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Exceptional organisational, prioritisation and planning skills, and process improvement in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
- Proficient in MS Office or Google apps
