About the role
Honeywell is hiring an Application Engineer to support applications and proposal engineering for Sundyne pump products serving industrial customers. The role sits within a technical sales support function covering pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment for oil & gas, petrochemical, and chemical processing industries. The engineer will review customer specifications, perform sizing and calculations, prepare technical and commercial proposals, and support the sales cycle through project handoff.
What you will do
- Review customer specifications and perform sizing & calculations to develop optimized technical solutions for all Sundyne pump products
- Prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals, including cost structures and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with engineering, vendors, and internal teams to define scope, source components, and ensure proposal alignment
- Engage with customers through meetings and discussions to clarify requirements and support negotiation
- Support the full sales cycle by handing off awarded projects to execution teams and ensuring a smooth transition
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization initiatives
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience in applications / proposal engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment used in industrial applications
- Sound knowledge of API 610, API 682, API 671, API 614
- Experience working with customers in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical processing, or similar industry
- Proficiency with document control software and Microsoft Office Suite.
