About the role
IBM Consulting works with leading companies across industries to shape their hybrid cloud and AI journeys, supported by strategic partners, IBM technology, and Red Hat. This Application Developer role focuses on IBM Cloud Platform-based migration and modernization tools, application code refactoring, and containerization. The developer will design migration delivery engagements, create microservices and APIs, and convert workloads into containers for clients.
What you will do
- Design Migration Solutions: Design and build migration delivery engagements through the installation, configuration, and optimization of IBM Cloud Platform-based migration and modernization tools as per engagement requirements.
- Assess and Refactor Code: Apply knowledge of migration and modernization assessment and design to refactor application code, including semantic and syntactical changes, to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Create Microservices: Utilize expertise in creating microservices, APIs, and converting workloads into containers to drive efficient migration and modernization of applications.
- Optimize Application Performance: Apply advanced knowledge of technical and functional aspects to convert application code into containers through modular design, ensuring optimized performance and parameters.
- Collaborate on Migration Practices: Serve as a Migration Tool specialist for IBM Cloud Platform Migration Discovery, Design, and Build (Migrate) practices, collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality migration solutions.
- Migration and Modernization Assessment: Experience working with migration and modernization assessment and design, with a focus on application code refactoring and semantic and syntactical changes.
- Application Code Optimization: Experience working with technical and functional aspects to convert application code into containers through modular design, ensuring optimized performance and parameters.
