About the role
IBM Consulting works with clients worldwide to help them shape hybrid cloud and AI journeys, supported by IBM technology, Red Hat, and strategic partners. The Application Developer: Cloud FullStack role focuses on cloud-based applications built with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and REST APIs, integrating front-end, back-end, and middleware components. The developer will design and deploy scalable, secure services, work with databases, implement CI/CD and DevOps practices, and troubleshoot production issues.
What you will do
- Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain Microservices-based applications.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases to store and manage data.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17+. and React
- Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA.
- Strong knowledge of Microservices Architecture.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of Hibernate/JPA.
- Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
- Familiarity with Git, Maven, Gradle.
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization.
- Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ.
- Knowledge of JWT, OAuth2, and application security.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
- Cloud Security Knowledge: Exposure to implementing cloud security measures, including network security and access control, to ensure the integrity of cloud-based applications.
- Advanced DevOps Tools: Experience working with advanced DevOps tools and methodologies to optimize the development, testing, and deployment of cloud-based applications.
- Multi-Cloud Environments: Exposure to designing, building, and maintaining multi-cloud environments, focusing on uptime, scalability, and automation.
