About the role
The Private Equity and Real Estate Services Fund Administration team within JPMorgan's Alternative Fund Services administers private equity funds and other alternative investment vehicles. The team is responsible for financial statements, capital calls, investor allocations and investor relations support for alternative investment clients. This Vice President role leads a team of fund accounting professionals, reviews complex client deliverables, partners with internal and external stakeholders, and drives process and technology improvements.
What you will do
- Manage team of highly talented Private Equity Fund Accounting professionals
- Take end to end ownership of client deliverables and cultivate client relationships
- Assist Fund Accountants in preparation work for complex entities & Review the financial statements, capital calls and other client deliverables produced by the Fund Accountants
- Comprehend fund agreements in order to determine impact on fund set up & reporting
- Partner with various internal and external stakeholders, Lead strategic projects for internal initiatives & external clients
- Develop team members by setting objectives, providing performance feedback, participate in mentoring program and monitor team's adherence to control procedures
- Monitor and evaluate current processes and technology, and work with management to improve and gain efficiencies
Skills used in this role
What the employer is looking for
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Accounting / ICWA / CA / MBA / CPA
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, preferably private equity or hedge fund accounting
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and accounting software
- Strong technical knowledge of complex accounting concepts, structures, and investor allocations
- Ability to function in high-pressure situations and meet strict deadlines consistently
- Must be extremely organized and able to multitask, motivated and willing to explore new ways to enhance a process
- Must have people management, relationship building skills to develop partnerships and drive results
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with complex private equity legal and investment structures & various waterfall models
- Experience using partnership accounting applications (e.g. Investran)
- Experience of working in a truly global operating model with counterparts located in multiple countries and time zones
