About the role
Ather Energy builds India's smart electric scooters end to end — the vehicle, the software that runs it, the factory that makes it, and the charging network that powers it — and is now going all-in on becoming AI-native. The AI Enablement Team is responsible for making AI the way work actually gets done across every function, from Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain to Engineering, Design, Finance, HR and customer-facing teams. This role, the first hire in the team and reporting to the Head of AI, owns the adoption charter, picks the high-impact workflows to improve with AI, builds and grows the enablement function, and turns workflow gaps into centrally-owned playbooks, policies and tooling standards.
What you will do
- Own the adoption charter: Work with every part of the business — Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain through to Engineering, Design, Finance, HR and Customer-facing teams — and make AI a daily habit in each of them, not a tool people merely have access to.
- Own the impact: Pick the handful of workflows that actually decide cost, quality or speed at Ather — a quality check, a demand plan, a month-end close, a customer conversation — and enable the end users to improve those processes with AI. Prove the gain in the function's own numbers.
- Build and grow the AI Enablement function: You will be the first person in the team. Decide the direction to grow the team, catering to the unique requirements of Ather. Recruit, train and hold accountable the champions across the org, and run the operating rhythm that keeps it alive — clinics, deep-dives, forums, hackathons.
- Own how proven workflows spread — and what's missing. Stay close enough to every function to know not just what's working, but what's still broken: where teams are stuck without the right tool, guide, or guardrail. Turn those gaps into centrally-owned assets — policies, playbooks, tooling standards, approval processes — so functions aren't each solving the same problem their own way. Package what already works into recipes anyone can pick up, and build what's missing before five different teams improvise five different answers to it.

What the employer is looking for
- Someone who builds movements, not just programs — as comfortable in front of a factory-floor team as in front of an adoption dashboard.
- Adoption & Change Management at Scale: You've driven technology or behaviour-change adoption across a large, multi-function organisation. You know adoption is cultural as much as technical.
- Program & Community Leadership: You've stood up and scaled a champion or ambassador network and kept a distributed group accountable without direct authority.
- Hands-on GenAI Fluency, with Real Technical Grounding: A daily user of the modern stack — Gemini and Workspace, NotebookLM, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor/Codex — with strong prompt craft. You can write a bit of code, wire up a script or automation, and tinker your way to a working prototype. You can teach it because you do it.
- Metrics & Instrumentation: You define and own adoption metrics — WAU/MAU, activation and depth funnels — and run crisp reviews off a dashboard.
- Communication & Translation: You move fluently between business functions and a technical AI team, and make non-technical colleagues feel capable rather than threatened.
- Stakeholder Influence: You know how to get time, budget and air-cover out of senior leaders.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience, including hands-on leadership of large-scale adoption, enablement or transformation programs — ideally with recent, deep exposure to Generative AI.
- An MBA, or equivalent depth in change management, L&D, programme management or transformation.
Benefits and support
- Compensation and benefits are detailed in the job posting
